The 24-200 is already at F/6.3 by about 85mm so the 24-120 is giving you a stop and a third more light at portrait focal lengths (and of course less DoF that is sometimes desirable). On the flip side 120 vs 200 is quite a significant difference in reach. If you shoot a lot at 50, it’s an awesome lens. If you aren’t shooting at 50 or don’t have to have the f1.8 aperture, the 24-120 can cover the same uses but at f4. The 24-120 f4 will probably be a great versatile lens for travelling or day trips. Plenty of zoom, not heavy, and easily replaced aka lower financial burden if I drop it, lose it, etc compared to the 24-70 f2.8but I know I will ultimately be disappointed with the pictures I take with it compared to my 85 mm f1.8.
